“Boxing is my main source of income. I can’t rely on my salary as a public official. I’m helping the family of my wife and my own family, as well. Many people also come to me to ask for help and I just couldn’t ignore them.” – Manny Pacquiao tells AFP on Wednesday.

37-year-old Manny Pacquiao has announced his comeback to boxing after he retired in April to focus on his political career.
The elected Filipino senator said on Tuesday after a meeting with his promoter Bob Arum in Manila that he will fight World Boxing Organisation (WBO) welterweight champion Jessie Vargas in November.
“Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a November 5 fight with reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas,” Pacquiao said in a statement adding: “Boxing is my passion. I miss what I’d been doing inside the gym and atop the ring.”
Pacquiao beat American Timothy Bradley by a unanimous decision in his last fight before retiring.
His upcoming opponent, Vargas, is 27-year-old American who has won 27 fights with 10 Knock Outs and has lost just a fight.
Pacquiao who on the other hand has 58 wins with 38 Knock Outs, 6 losses and 2 defeats will hold a promotional tour for the fight in Los Angeles in September, his manager Michael Koncz confirmed.
“My entire training camp will be held here in the Philippines so I can attend to my legislative work. This is my campaign promise and I’m determined to keep it,” Pacquiao said.
Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion.
